From the earliest of times art has always
played a major role in humanities ability to quickly
tap into the importance of nature thus imparting the
positive or negative side of our effect on the planet.
Art depicting nature has greatly influenced human awareness
of endangered ecosystems and has become one of the most
significant driving forces to help implementing effecting
legislation thus leading the way for environmentally
sensitive lands to be set aside as parks and preserves.
To this end Quest artists have played a major role in
the protection of millions of acres of wilderness, wildlife
and open space.
For over three decades Quest Foundation has recognized
the critical need to support and harness America's environmental
artists who are dedicating their lives to conservation
through their talents. These artists are from diverse
cultural backgrounds regardless of sex, race or religion.
We take into account the old and young alike with emphasis
on supporting the inner city and less fortunate artist.
| The "Arts For Action"
Plan supports artists in the following ways: |
- To provide hands on training
and environmental education to artists through
our membership centers and associated schools.
- Take immediate action on more than 100 sites
in Canada, the U.S. and in Latin America that
identify the most biodiverse locations.
- Provide the appropriate tools and resources
needed to empower the skilled artist to meet
conservation challenges of this millenium.
- Continue to network artists that will help
accelerate new and on going conservation programs.
- Develop Forest Link
Opinion Centers.

Goal
Our goal is to protect and or help restore
the world's most precious ecosystems through the arts
and science. Three decades of successes coupled with
the "Arts for Action" plan will help assure the future
protection of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems.
Partnerships
Partnerships are critical to maintain broad
base communications and support in the environmental
art field. We have maintained close partnerships with
leading conservation groups, schools, universities,
environmental foundations, corporations, and governmental
units on a local, state and international level. We
service the conservation media needs of these types
of institutions with educational visual arts services
and products that cannot be obtained from other sources.
The Challenge
Now due to over population and the resulting pollution
we now are living with such terms as "critical
habitat and caring capacity" These modern terms
not only apply to a understanding our internal ecosystem
but how we connect in a sustainable way to the living
planet with it's interrelated ecosystems. Through
the arts and sciences humanity can begin to understand
the importance of the earth's interrelated ecosystems
and the significance of
"sustainable consumption;
the ability of any single or group of species to live
healthy and multiply within its own habitat."
( Quote from
Jim Fowler / Wild Kingdom )
Letting nature communicate its ecological importance
through the artist is a critical link thus educating
humanity to the ultimate beauty, celebration and protection
of "critical habitats." This will encourage
a sustained and not over consumed planet earth. (
